Staying Transparent

Governance

The Irish Youth Foundation is a registered Irish charity (CHY5957). Being a philanthropic funding body, we are, every day, entrusted to safe-keep, monitor and ensure that the vital funds donated by visionary and caring people and organisations – are well spent, well monitored and impacts evaluated.

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of governance to ensure full transparency in how we operate. The Irish Youth Foundation is fully compliant with all relevant Irish charity legislation and regulatory frameworks.

We hold the “triple lock” mark of best practise for charities in Ireland, covering the highest standards of good governance financial reporting and ethical fundraising.

The Board and staff commit to the following core principles:

  1. Belief in the potential of children and young people
  2. Promoting partnerships; locally, regionally, nationally and internationally
  3. Encourage donor participation
  4. Foster the promotion of innovation
  5. All young people to have a voice
  6. Adopt the highest standards in governance, transparency and accountability
  7. Provide practical support and funding where it is needed the most
